The Lower School art curriculum at SJCA is designed to develop students' knowledge of visual arts media, techniques, and processes in order to allow students to express ideas creatively. All elementary classes have art once a week.
Drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture are just a few things that we focus on in all levels.
The Middle and Upper School art curriculum at SJCA is designed to develop and expand students' knowledge of visual arts media, techniques, and processes in order to allow students to express ideas creatively. High school students are offered art for an entire calendar year and middle school has art as an elective.
The music program at SJCA serves all students through singing, listening, moving, and reading music. Students develop and refine their skills in the music concepts. Lessons are always made to integrate music instruction with specific themes being studied in other curricular areas and music is presented in all classes throughout the year to the elementary classes.
Middle and High School students have the opportunity to try out for the SJCA worship team which performs in weekly chapel services.
