DUE TO THE REDUCTION OF COVID CASES, THE SJCA BOARD OF. DIRECTORS VOTED TO AMEND THE CURRENT MASK POLICY TO MAKE MASKS OPTIONAL AT SCHOOL.
DHEC has recently changed their requirements for identifying indoor close contacts. Anyone 6’ or more away from an infected person is not considered a close contact. Anyone closer than 3’ is a close contact. Those within 3’-6’ who are wearing masks are not close contacts and will not have to quarantine as long as the infected person is wearing a mask. Therefore, students, staff, and visitors must all wear masks when they are within 6’ of others. This will greatly reduce our need to quarantine students.
