The Academic Booster Council plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experience within our private school. This organization is comprised of dedicated parents, alumni, and community members who provide vital support that extends beyond the standard curriculum. Their contributions are instrumental in fostering an enriched learning environment and promoting academic excellence.
One of the primary functions of the Academic Booster Council is fundraising. These funds are crucial for procuring advanced educational materials, technology, and resources that might not be otherwise available due to budget constraints. This financial support will enable SJCA to offer diverse programs, such as STEM initiatives, arts and humanities projects, and advanced placement courses, which significantly enhance students' learning experiences and opportunities.
The Academic Booster Council will organize and support academic events, including science fairs,
SCISA supported events, and guest speaker engagements.
These events not only stimulate intellectual curiosity but also encourage students to engage more deeply with their studies, fostering a culture of academic achievement.
Serving on the Academic Booster Council is through an annual membership. Members must be willing to meet the following criteria for membership:
• Make a minimum contribution of $500 to the Academic Booster Fund within the academic year of the term.
• Understand that the Academic Booster
Council has a focus on philanthropy and addressing the needs of current SJCA students.
• Attend the two dinner meetings to be held in fall and spring.
• Collaborate effectively with the other Academic Booster Council members, review proposals and decide how the funds will be allocated.
• All decisions on how the money will be spent is determined by the members.
